Install the GoChatterBot WordPress plugin

The plugin comes from your dashboard as a zip file and installs like any other WordPress plugin.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.0 or later
  • PHP 7.4 or later
  • An Administrator account on the site

Install

  1. Download the plugin

    In your dashboard, click Download Plugin. You get a zip file; don’t unzip it.

  2. Upload it to WordPress

    In your WordPress admin go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip file and click Install Now.

  3. Activate

    Click Activate. A GoChatterBot item appears in the admin menu with Overview, Conversations and Settings.

Next, connect the plugin with your API key.

Updates

New versions appear on your WordPress Plugins screen like any other plugin update. Updates are signed, and the plugin checks the signature before installing one.

Removing the plugin

Deactivating the plugin hides the chat but keeps your settings and conversations. Deleting it also keeps them, unless you ticked Also delete every conversation and setting under Access and privacy first.
